It made it to 96 + hrs. / 4 days, last night.

The latest pr. of braid, now with 43 hrs. on it, has the top layer worn off on one side, but I'm sure they'll make it to 100 hrs.,
when I plan to change tires for the first time.

Rear chassis clearance is still .041"/ .042".
Spur clearance is down to approx. .030", so I'm hoping the tires hang in for 3 more hrs.

I can't wait to the 100 hr. mark, for the (3rd) braid change and (1st) tire change, to get a little more speed back into the car.

On the short (.660" ?) tires and worn braid, the car is down to running about 7.6's.

It hit made it to 102 hrs. tonight.

When it crossed the 100 hr. mark, I wasn't even in the raceway.
Graham C. witnessed it, while testing his new Retro car on the flat track, while I was three doors down, at Subway,
popping the cork on a Meatball Marinara, to celebrate. LOL

I'll take some pics of it later.

And then change the tires ( for the first time)and braid and get it back on the road again
and see if we can get something to finally break or stop.

The car got cleaned off a few days back and I put on the new tires and braid.

That was just what the doctor ordered ,as the car started running high 6.8's, low 6.9's, about a tenth or a
tenth and a half faster than it ran originally.

While the motor probably isn't running any faster, it's probably still running about the same, and the decrease in lap
times can most likely be attributed to better track conditions.

IE-track has been cleaned, resprayed and along with a bunch of rentals and birthday parties to break it in,
it had a full day of Retro racing on it last Sunday.

The car is now at 112 + hrs., hopefully on it's way to 120 hrs. / 5 full days of trouble-free running.

The car finally stopped (on it's own)

The driver side lead wire broke at approx. 117 hrs., 20 minutes.

The lead wire was (almost) immediately fixed and is back on the road.

When I agreed to test the car for Jerry, it was to see how long the motor would run.

I'll keep repairing the car until the Hawk 25 gasps it's last RPM.

While the body was off, I took a good look at both brushes and I'm thinking the motor might go 144 hrs./6 days.

I originally thought the spur would wear out and fail first, but after putting the car back in the slot after fixing the lead wire,
holding it tightly, not remembering the lane was 'hot-wired", full on, and it didn't chew up the teeth, I'm thinking the motor will run out of brushes first.

Earlier today, the car broke the 144 hr. / 6 day, mark.

Only failure so far, 1 broken lead wire at 117 + hrs.

It's still running mid to high 6.9's, low 7.0's

While staying late composing the new JK Super Spec rules, the Rental car got in an 8 hr.+ run to bring it
to 164 hrs and closing in closer to the 1 week mark.

I checked the bottom motor brush carefully under the magnifier before I left, and I can safely say,
the motor will probably not run forever.

Yay !

The car cracked the 168 hr. / 7 day / 1 week barrier a little earlier tonight.

Next milestone to shoot for will be 192 hrs. / 8 days, and then 200 hrs.

FWIW, it appears the 2nd breakdown will be another lead wire, the one that didn't already break. LOL

It's hanging on by a thread.

After changing braid at the 168 hr. mark, the car is back in the 7.0's, after running a few tenths before that.

I guess even this low powered car will slow down with braid with 60 + hrs. on it. LOL

The "other" lead wire did finally break at 181 hrs.

The 2nd pair (1st replacement) of tires still has at least .060+ clearance on each side.

I checked the brushes again and it looks like 200 hrs. is a possibility.

With both lead wires recently fixed, I oiled her up about a 1/2 hr. ago and I'm going to "let her go".

If it doesn't stop or slow, I'll let her run at least 24 hrs. straight.

With the long run ahead, I cleaned off the lane, and thus, even on the now shorter pair of tires, the car still snuck into the high 7.0's. (7.075)

It's now at 187 hrs.

Came in this morning after letting the car run 8 1/2 hrs. straight overnight.

Car was squeaky.

I oiled one bushing at a time and identified the culprit as the motor gear side bushing.

Oiled it up and car is rocking again.

The car still has .047"+ clearance with 108 hrs. on the 2nd set of tires.

Car has now surpassed 210 hrs.

Ahhhh.

One of life's great pleasures.

Driving to the raceway at 4 in the morning, in your pajama'a and slipper's, to oil Jerry's
"car that wouldn't stop". :mega_shok:

Car is at 224 hrs. and still running strong.
