Two huge dust motes landed on my beautiful clear-coat just after I shot the paint. Right on the nose above the number, see them? Been waiting days for the paint to cure so I can wet sand the whole thing and take another shot at it.
Aren't you afraid you'll penetrate the clearcoat and cut the red paint? What do you use - 1500?

2500 grit and the clear had two coats on it. I never went through.
But the third and 4th coat I hurried a touch and got one sag along the side. I drug it out with a soft brush and most of the lines went away. But it's still there.... arrrrgg.
Oh well.

You must have reached the same point as I did, just Git-er-Done! I also made many compromises and concessions along the way, but worked through them just to finish. I didn't even attempt to rub out the paint on the Merc, so it lives on with all the orange peel that came with the top coat. These big projects can tire anyone out.
Might I also add that if we had known there would be this much time for the build, many may have turned out with a little more detail too...

Jairus, on the 1/1 car, is the smoke coming from the tires, or the exhaust ?

Guess I forgot to post some final pictures huh?
Sorry guys. Yes it's done. Even been to the track with it and have turned turtle a time or two. No damage.
Some of the other Proxy cars have arrived. We have 4 so far including mine so I plan to take pictures this weekend and post them. I'll shoot some of the Maserati too.

Dug up an old fossil there David, but thank you!
Was a fun project, even if a bit over-engineered.
