Tim, today I spent the day trying to help out at the track.  Tried to help Debbie out with making sure that she has enough Pinions and Crown Gears in stock for everyone who is coming to the race,   tried to see whatever else needs to be done in preparation for Friday, and  Tried to help a few racers, Hector and Don, to get their cars ready..... I will not be at the track this week,  as a matter of fact,  Saturday the King Track was taken up the entire day by Wing Cars, so no Retro Practice on the King at all til way past when I left, the track was Wing Glued.....

Yesterday, as you saw when I was there with Phil, I was trying to help Phil get his cars dialed in as he too will be working all this week and will not have a chance to get their like you and others.

I got a total of about 30 min of running all weekend, as I figure that as this point, since I won the last couple of King Track races, I pretty much got what I got.   Would love to be there with you guys this week, but I have to work....

The Flat Track is in good shape, the King Track will need to be cleaned and spray glued......The rest will be left to Philippe on Tuesday.....

There are now pit space reservation signs down on the pit tables for people, such as Gorski, Iles and Kisling , so that whoever is coming will see where spaces are reserved.

HOPE that everyone coming has a good time, the SCRRA is really trying to tie up loose ends to make this a great event for all...

Credit Bryan, Philippe and Cukras for planning and overseeing a Classic Event.   Nesta and Jairus and Flygirl for the wonderful posters, and Jeff Easterly and Greg Carter for all their help in advance.

Buena Park Raceway looks ready for the Checkpoint Cup.

Kamo-san & I wish we would be there to race with all of you.

We hope all the racers, local or out of state, will have a great time at the Great Race.

Good Racing,

Haurki

PS. I have just been to a hospital for a monthly check-up, finding that the data of my heart has improved a lot, still needing more improvement though.

Hope to race with you soon at my home raceway in the States.

I am no longer a board member but I am willing as Mill is, to help out. I cannot thank Bryan Warmack enough for the incredible and generous help is is providing to the series, to many who could not even race if it was not for him.

I thank all who contributed to what promises to be a great event: Jairus Watson for his great poster showing my all-time favorite racer, John Cukras for his behind the scenes help to the series, Mill Conroy busily making sure that loopholes are exposed and closed, Debby Watterson trying to run her raceway in difficult circumstances with her husband in not the best of shape and many more.

I have printed 2 sets of the rules with all the allowed bodies, and will bring them to the raceway Tuesday so that racers can check the legality of their rides without resorting to a computer.

I will help John with tech inspection so that he can spend more time chatting with visitors and locals. Please be kind enough to bring your cars "body off" and to mount your motors with the serial number showing at the bottom of the car (meaning that the positive lead is on the right side as it should), thanks!

I encourage anyone with a technical issue to ask me for any advice or physical help I might be able to provide at any time. I know at least 10% of what I should but in some cases it might be enough to help!

I wish all racers to have a very pleasant weekend with lots of great racing, and remember, winning is not everything, having fun and enjoying good company is much more important! :)

Thank you for the info! and thanks to those who have tried to help me be more competitive---Bryan W.--Tom H.--Philippe.  It is hard to compete after 42 yrs off and coming from a non king track state. Still working on the rythem of the flat track. Wish there was atleast one race on the kingleman as all my cars are right at home on that track and I can drive it with my eyes closed. Looks like the weather and roads should be good for the drive. It has not been over 25 degrees here (S.L.C.) since Christmas. I am getting excited-hope you are too. I don't expect to win anything. I do expect to enjoy every bodys company, friendship and knowledge, not to mention the warm weather. See ya Wednesday around 3 pm.               P.S.----Rob Crane and my wife have birthdays that Saturday.

How does one reserve pit space?

I am only racing Can Am on Saturday, but hope to get a little track time late Friday.

Staying in Huntington Beach near the pier and Duke;s.   :sun_bespectacled:  Won't see me Sunday.

I cant wait!  :)

The Vitter was outside as the little card table he had set up was strategically placed over a little styrofoam cooler full of beer!  :laugh2:

Of course I want to wish all of the racers participating the best of luck- but I want to send a special shout out to our very own Dave Fiedler who I would wish the very best of luck!

I can only compare Dave's courage and commitment to that of Alex Zanardi in 1:1 racing. The man has gone through a lot the last few years and still races with a (big) smile on his face. What a great inspiration to us all.

All the best my friend!

There was a barbecue going that day, as I recall.
