But think of how much recycled steel it provided to the Chinese industry!

I also like the 1970 Dodge Challengers, which isn't surprising as my first car was a 318 Challenger in Plum Crazy.

A fine example of a "Plum Crazy" Challenger:

"The rest" vs Bruce and Denny... and one-sided at best even then.

If you are a Porsche nut check out this SITE
and then check out all the different version and liveries of the 936, 956, and the 962 as well as some other Porsche types.

Then go here and turn up your sound loud and get prepared for a fast long lap of the Nurbugring in the Porsche Yellow Bird GTR rebuild by RUF. This is the WMF low-fi version going around. If you like this, there is a hi-def DVD available from RUF's site but I heard it is expensive.

Supposedly the driver is Stefen Roser doing the lap. I also think some of those motorcyclists he passes on the lap had to change their shorts after he went by. :victory:

Check the lap HERE.

My second favourite Richard Petty car is the Plymouth Road Runner he raced in 1971 and 1972. It's a car that's under-appreciated by not only the great unwashed but by NASCAR enthusiasts themselves. It rarely gets mentioned in the same breath with some of his better-known cars yet he won the Winston Cup championship in both the years he campaigned with this car. Richard actually won a whopping 21 out of the 46 races that he started with the Road Runner in 1971.

Here's a couple of street-legal 1971 Plymouth Roadrunners:

Another one of my favourite Funny Cars from the seventies was Ed "The Ace" McCulloch's Revellution:

Here's a couple of kits I just bought on eBay. Neither was a top priority but they were nice enough and they were available at a semi-reasonable price.

Yes, it's even been released as a CD, which shows there are sillier people than slot car racers out there. After 40 years, the music still sux.

The Revells? Sounds like a job for eight-track!

:laugh2:

I found a pic of the album in case anyone is masochistic enough to comb yard sales to unearth one.
