That hotel is now the Ramada MacArthur Airport.  Best price pretty much seems to be the same if you are staying 3 nights, no matter if you have AAA, AARP, or anything else. $105/night

I will arrive at JFK from Tokyo on Monday, starting to practice at PJ on Tuesday.

Kamo-san is now building for me a F-1 shaker chassis by utilizing a new Hanada F-1 kit.

As for Stock Car class, I will bring what I have been playing on our King:  Kamo-Square stock car.  Maybe I will have to put some more lead weights on it.

I will bring a Kamo-Speed GTC-FK, which I raced at RP4 at Hudson Valley & at our recent Retro Tokyo races.

Its motor-brackets has become "soft" after many crashes, so Kamo-san has replaced it for a new one.

I also bring another GTC-FK car with a pan-type Kamo-DIO(Can-Am) chassis, which I have been racing for Can-Am very successfully at our track.

My Can-Am cars will be what I have recently been racing in Tokyo: Kamo-DIO Can-Am.

Maybe I will set-up a clone car as a back-up.

We are going to have a kind of Spring Holidays in Japan.

I will be away from Tokyo for a week with grand daughters.

Coming back on May 7, I hope I will be able to start thrashing for RP5.

Looking forward to seeing & racing with you all, Retro East friends.

Good Racing,

Haruki :good:

Gary,

This time I will bring a 6-wheel drive Can-Am car, 4 wheels of which are made invisible to pass tech by Noose. LOL

Don't leave home without your flair hair visor.

I will bring the one you & your dad sent me for Christmas.

Coincidentally I just finished reading an old slot car magazine that had a report of the 1992 USRA Nats where your fellow racer Tebu Sato won the Semi-Pro race by over 30 laps, which I guess forever removed "Semi" from his title ...

He is a very good racer in all the classes.
In the late 1980's, I organized USRA, Japan, as a local chapter of USRA to promote wing-car racing in Tokyo.
Tebu & Yuji won a series championship in Tokyo, being sent to the Nat's in Orland in 1991 as a prize sponsored by my beverage company.
The next year, with a good help of Jiro Takeuchi, as a local Zeppelin wing car racer at that time, Tebu and his mentor & owner of Riverside Raceway(Tokyo), Tamo Furuhashi did very well at the 1992 Nats.
The "Brothers," Take & Yoshi Hirose had been racing at the Nats since the early 80's, with Yoshi won 84 Semi-Pro.
Tebu, Yuji are now very active at Retro Tokyo, so is Yoshi but he is going to have a heart surgery, needing some break until he comes back racing.
Jiro, now 100% retired, has been dedicating himself to fishing, not showing up at Retro Tokyo recently.
Most of us at Retro Tokyo raced actively wing-cars in the 80-90's.

I like the idea of dedicating themselves to fishing. Much better than work.

Are we running .790 or .810 for tire size in F1?

Cheers

Actually Jiro still races wingcars in the US occasionally, he was at Port Jeff for the 2010 Worlds, 2013 Barnburner, 2012 Barnburner (2nd in OMO and 3rd in G7).

Jiro has been racing retro in Tokyo since we started our retro racing program here.

Yes, he continued to race wing cars at major races in the States.

Now he got a happy retirement, now devoting himself to fly fishing a special fish, deepbodied crucian carp, Group 7 of fly fishing in Japan.

Did a T&T at Fast Tracks Sunday with my Taxi Cab to get ready for THE PALOOZA.I know they are not the same Tracks but I wanted to test my Hawks and try different gearing. Was able to shave off 2 Tenths off my lap times but still not fast enough.Tried. 10/28 Gear Set up and it made the car more Drivable for me.Ill try treated tires ,weight placement , and gear combos when I get there. Also changed back to Parma Cyclone Body, not as top heavy as my Charger.Im open to ANY advice to get my Taxi Cab faster. My Meter is running .
Thanks for Listening
Pappy

Brian 10/28 gear will toast the motor real quick. Try 9/29. Use soft wonder rubber on the stock car.

Thanks Mike I will try 9/29.I wont know until i get there but ill mess around with some weight,it already weighs in the mid 130s. Maybe drill some holes in it to lighten it up .Got my Taxi Cab into the high 4.4s on The Bull Ring Blair, but that was driving balls to the wall.I know guys are running in the low 4.2s.Id like to get down to SZ and do a little T & T on their King with my Can Am and Coupe.
Thank you Mike, see you soon.Noose reminded us today The PALOOZA is only 3 weeks away.
