In the A Main, David Krumnow went wire to wire, to take the win, after finishing as the runner-up in the two previous
hand-out races of the weekend.
David used the same Retro Hawk in all three races.
Tracy fought back, after a tough purple lane, to take second, to go with his F1 win, the day before.
TQ, Guillermo Suar, recovered twice, after tough red and black heats, to take his second podium (both thirds) of the weekend.
Bernie was one lap back in fourth, to go with his first and third on Friday and Saturday.
The new JK Retro Hawk couldn't have possibly worked out better.
I only sold 47 for the three hand-out races, with three guys buying two-three on the last day just to have them.
Zero motor failures (of any type the whole weekend), zero lap counter issues.
Seven laps separated first through seventh in the A Main.
The spread for the fast lap time by the six fastest racers was 4.806 - 4.884.
Here's what David's brushes looked like after three 24 minute races and his pre-race practices.
He mentioned his car was losing brakes at the end of the third race, his win in Can-Am.

Can-Am PD
Thirteen entries
TQ - Ralph Thorne - 4.495.
With the track being fast on Thursday, blue probably went "over the top" by Sunday, with a little bit too much rubber.
It did make for very clean racing on all eight lanes.
The B Main was a five-man battle for the two move-ups, with a lap separating each driver.
Noose and Rich Attee made it to the A Main.

In what turned out to be, IMO, the cleanest and best marshaled Sano Can-Am A Main ever, the three young studs came out with both guns blazing,
all turning 38 laps.
A 37 lap heat on white by Matt gave him the lead.
Ralph tied him back in the third heat when Matt hit red.
But in the middle of the race, Matt pulled away a lap a heat to build a three-lap lead.
Ralph got one lap back, but Matt took the win with a track record 299 laps (+8 ft. on to the back chute), to repeat as Can-Am Champ.
Matt never drove off, got marshaled quickly in the few wrecks he drove into, running five 37s and three 38s.
This was the first 37 lap or over, race ever, at Chicagoland, a tribute to Matt and the marshals, who did a terrific job, quickly sweeping off deslotted cars on the other guys lanes.
Young Ralph fell just a couple laps short, but two seconds and a first, gave him one of the finest trifecta finishes in the history of Retro racing.
Cap, racing at his first Sano, fought back hard after a few deslots on purple, to run a super 296 laps, one lap behind Ralph.
A first, a third, and fourth at a new venue showed why Cap is one of the finest Retro racers in the world.
Sano Dave was four laps back from Cap, just missing his fifth podium of the weekend, cementing his status as one of the top two or three,
"old", all around Retro racers on planet Earth.
John Miller, after a eleven-month hiatus, came back strong, running in his first Sano Can-Am Main.
It's great to have John back.
Flat track racer, KVP, continued his fast Retro ways, running in all five A Mains of the weekend, and took sixth.
Rich Attee, after a tough battle for the move-up, ran a terrific 284 laps for seventh.
Noose, appearing in all three PD Mains of the weekend, ran out of gas, (or technically, electricity) and rounded out the field.
BTW, Matt was the only double winner of the weekend, with seven different winners in eight classes.
Sano 7 overview to follow in a day or two.

Grats to Matt, Ralph and Cap!
Remember, two wrongs don't make a right... but three lefts do! Only you're a block over and a block behind.

Noose will be doing a report with pics.
The results are the big story, which I got up personally, as fast as humanely possible.
The race ended four hours ago and I had customers to ring up.
I'm missing a post-race party at my house with my wife and house guests, Noose, Howie, Tracy, and Ralph, to get up the race sheets with the lap results and a quick summary.

2) JK Retro motors ran great... maybe better and more consistent and cooler than the F7... with the same gearing.
3) Thanks to Rob and Manta Ray for pitting my races, Bernie for getting my heavy boxes set up, and to all of the other racers for their well wishing and marshaling for me. I marshaled some of the practice and doing it during a race would have been too much for my month-old surgery.
4) Much thanks to Mike and Jackie for AM coffee and the lunch buffet.

It's now back in post #51.
I also had a conversation earlier with a friend, with him being concerned, that the Retro Hawk might possibly be too good, especially after me mentioning hot lapping my Can-Am around blue in the 4.6s.
I pointed out to him that is with a Can-Am, with me running the car, on after the race, ideal conditions.
As far as in the race where you can make a comparison with the same type of car with the same drivers, here is GTC-FK results from the last two years.
I don't recall last year's TQ time but this year's was 4.917.
Sano 6 GTC-FK King A Main results, using Falcon 7s:
1) Dave Geehring - 36/35/34/36/36/34/32/32 = 275 laps, best lap of 4.818 secs
2) Chris Barnes - 34/32/33/35/34/33/35/34 = 270, 5.033
3) Greg VanPeenen - 33/33/34/34/33/34/35/34 = 270, 4.900
4) Brian Cox - 35/34/33/32/34/34/34/34 = 270, 4.992
5) Greg Gorski - 33/34/34/33/32/33/33/30 = 262, 5.136
6) Rick Stagen - 34/33/35/35/32/32/32/31/26 = 258, 4.964
7) Erick Balicki - 35/28/31/32/33/30/31/33 = 253, 5.056
8) Dennis Clark - 34/33/33/33/34/33/23/29 = 252, 5.067
As you can see, in what can probably be considered superior conditions, Bernie only went one more lap this year, than Dave did the previous year.
Fast time for the last year's race was much lower, 4.818 vs. this year's 4.900.
But this year's 4.900 - 5.084 fast lap grouping was much tighter than last year's 4.818 - 5.136. (.184 diff vs. .318 diff).
Last year's lap diff was 23, top to bottom, this year 22, one lap less, but realistically more like 19 this year as both Lee and Dennis lost 8 to 10 laps when they needed gear repair or picked up the car for severe jacked braid, contact problems.
Bottom line, they don't seem faster, just more reliable and way more consistent.

Mike, ...Fast... Great 'Results' reporting, commentary and comparative performance analysis.
Just getting the printouts posted the same day is a win for those looking for 'what happened?'.
Congratulations to the winners and everyone that had fun!
