That was one of the first I built for Chris Clark. The level of scale detailing started with this car in 2008.
Unfortunately many of Chris' photos have disappeared.

Nice Cobra How does the Ulrich full suspension handle ? Sure looks like it could handle well, do I spy Ulrich Halibrands too?
Posted 04 March 2014 - 10:38 PM
I'm guessing the wheels are Revell Paul. I'll let you know

Ah yes, I've seen the Revell wheels before in packets online & never in person. Just an automatic reaction when seeing Halibrand threaded wheels, the goes "Ulrich"
Rodney has done a great job on this Cobra

Next up Rick's Ford MKII returns.
This is my second old race car from my vintage racing days at Slot Car Junction in South San Francisco. I retired it after it was literally broken in half when it jumped into another racers lane and received a full bore wall shot. I can't believe that Rodney got it looking so good.
Here's Rodney's track report:
"The Captain Rick Ford Mk II ran great at Eddie's last Sunday. Fast lap times. Like the real car, the slot car has great power (Pittcan 6001BB powered). Also like the real car, the slot car is a little heavy. Not very tossable but very stable. Little short on brakes but easy to manage. The spongie rear tires came back to life with a good cleaning and an application of some drag race tire glue. The car has been through the wars but still looks great."

Nice - that kit is perfect paired up with the Dynamic chassis, really like the pan on that also. Looks fast...

Thanks guys.
Rodney did a great rescue mission on the MkII. It was a good car in the day.
I was a racer first in those days and I somehow managed to heat up the curved body sides and straighten them out so wider chassis pans would fit. I hadn't yet figured out that you can have too much tire with vintage hardbody cars. It would tilt at the absolute limit which lead to it's demise from a "rider" wall shot.

F-O-R-D used to stand for first on Race Day (Yes, I know all the other acronyms). I sure hope they can return to their winning ways.
Anyway here is one of my all time favorite FoMoCo's
Here is the kit I would use to build it.

Rodney has built up another cool Ford, this time a drag racer:
"Just completed the Falcon last night . A little early for For High Performance being 1960. It was a hit at Eddie's. I wanted to build a drag race car like the one I modified for DVan for the Gene Hustings Proxy. Body purchased off of ebay. Pittman 65- 6 volt used. Urethane tires. Monster crown gear for 4 to 1 gear ratio. Car really jumps!"

Love it ! Way to go Rodney Should be good to see how the DC65 performs on the strip

Rodney,
Way cool Easy/Gasser.
We still have room .... Do you want me to ad that car as a Confirmed Back-up under DVan's name?
Darn .. I've never had the courage to try and use those K&B locking crowns, the teeth are just so shallow they look 'unserviceable'.

Pete Shepherd, "scudbong" over at that other forum, posted an amazing link to some massive Ford galleries over at flikr.
Some great pictures from early 60's USRRC events, a ton of Can Am and Trans Am, GT, and GP stuff also - there's something like 600 photos for the 66 Le Mans alone ! This is a truly brilliant resource and well worth checking out:
