Always wanted a Cox Gurney but can never win one on eBay or fabricate the needed parts in 1/25. So I figured maybe I can locate one of the Revell/Monogram bodies in 1/32 and do a smaller one.

Still haven't found a donor body but I got the wheelbase and started my build with these parts.

Front bracket I'll carve outta the remaining one... leaving the swing arm tabs.

Bruce, this appears to be a very interesting project. I'll be following your build article through it's completion. Thanks for sharing it. :)

Were your turned pictures taken with an Apple device?

A little progress... argh! I tried keeping the picture upright... not sure what I'm doing wrong.

[Ed. note: Fixed your pic and the "why" is that you're holding the iPad in the wrong orientation. See the PM I sent you please.]

Someone did a scratchbuild on a jig of this chassis a few years back here on Slotblog.

A quick search and here you go.

Anyone know if this decal set is made in 1/32? I see them regularly in 1/24 but cannot find the smaller.

Oh! I found a stripped donor body from the Revell Monogram stockers. When it gets here I'll finish stripping it and paint.

Here you go, Bruce.

Look under decals, in the letter "C" and scroll down to the end and you'll find Cox Stock Car:

Hi Bruce,

I copied your photo, rotated it and replaced the photo in your post so I could see your chassis

Your chassis, as the British would say, "looks the business". Nice work!

Thank you, Rick... I'm gonna slot the body tomorrow, to try to get a stance that looks a bit more NASCAR than the old Cox car...

Those wheels looked hidden up in there to me. I'll cheat it a little.

That really does indeed, as Rick says, "look the business".  :good:

Reminds me at some point will look at doing a Gurney in 1/24 and now got inspiration for 1/32 one, too... thanks!

Bruce,

Are you using a cellphone to take these pics?

If so, what brand and model please?

As you can see, I fixed the pic orientation.
