Building is fun, but seeing how good it drove was even more satisfaction. No bullet but speedy and handles as good as half my cars. I'm gonna make a clone like it for my brother. Just hafta find a few more of those motor brackets to use.

I think that motor bracket is a WRP drag racing item. Check with your local raceway to see if they have them or can order them for you. If not, try a mailorder house such as PCH or one of the others.
PCH shows this motor bracket as: D3 ED Chassis Motor Bracket - ED-D3-001 $5.95

Bruce,
The sideways pic problem is related to how you hold your iPad when you take the pics.
The correct orientation is (IIRC) to hold the iPad with the long side horizontal, with the home button on the right and the camera lens facing outward on the upper left.
As to why pics you take look correctly oriented in some places and sideways in other places, it has to do with software. Almost all apps embed orientation in the image's metadata. The problem is that some apps ignore that metadata and don't orient the image correctly based on the embedded metadata
Try holding your iPad as indicated above and test to see if the problem still occurs please.

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

I feel your pain Bruce. I personally have, lets just say, not a fun time painting. I'm the last person that should try and give advise on painting as I need to paint my 1/24 Gurney Stocker too. But I will mention that even though I have an air brush, the last 2 cars I painted were done with Tamiya lacquer spray cans.
I heated the cans in hot water in the bathroom sink and went to town. On the red Cobra I made the mistake of laying the paint on too heavy trying to get it smoother and glossier. I got a sag or run on one fender. I stopped and let the paint cure (dry). The Tamiya sprays on very fine, shrinks and smooths out as it cures over time. This allows any details to not be obscured with a thick coat of paint as with many enamels.
Trouble now was the paint wasn't very shinny or "deep" looking. I took a leap of faith and tried a technique I'd never done before:
I tired something to help my crappy paint and decal job look better and it worked beyond my wildest dreams:
A brushed on coat of floor wax worked miracles. The paint took on a high gloss. The decals blended much better into the paint and the cast resin windscreen became crystal clear...........amazing!
I was terrified as I brushed on that floor wax as it was running and bubbling all over the place. After the stuff dried it was all smooth and shinny....amazing.
I don't know if the tales of my escapades is of any help but I hope it offers some moral support.
Good luck and you're an inspiration to us all for sticking with it.

I think you really want a Gurney as that's what you started out to make. It's to bad your decals got lost. I've been lucky so far with Patto's I guess. He does offer guaranteed shipping but it's kind of pricey.

I'll second what Rick said. Go after the Gurney decals once more. Otherwise, you'll want to kick yourself every time you see the "Yellow Banana."

Give Patto's one more try Bruce. I'm sure you'll get the decals and have the Gurney Stocker you've wanted.
