I dropped the ball on this thread, just plain forgot to get back to posting the images Chris's cars I have saved. Sorry...

But here's a restart... a Chaparral 2.

Too nice to ever risk them on an actual track.

Beautifully photographed as well. :good:

Cheers,

PS: The 904 was my first slot car but I seem to remember a different chassis.

I have a hard time gluing a bumper on straight, so this is really depressing to me!!!

Ed is out of the midget racers, but is compiling a list of pre-orders (not being paid for). If he can get enough orders he will order a second run of the kits. They are a little pricey compared to the average plastic magnet car, but they are so much more when built up and each build up is your one of a kind. They are fun to race.

OMG! My mom and dad got me the Monogram Porsche 904 slot for my very first car, when I was eleven or twelve, but mine had the the chassis that's under the MGA in this thread.

Pete,

Your thanks really need to be directed to Chris Clark, who graciously allowed me to snag his pics to post here.

I have a lot more of them BTW...

OK, so this one isn't a Monogram kit car, but since the 330P is one of my all-time favs...

It's different to see this car without number roundels and sponsor decals. Don't recall seeing the faired-in front fender mirrors before.

I don't know what chassis this is. Can someone enlighten me?

Here's what Chris described as one of his favorite builds - a Lola F1 car on a Bulldog chassis. Not sure of the exact model or year, but I do agree - this is a gorgeous 1/32 slot car.

Hi Greg,

It's a Martin Field (FPF) Lola Mk 4, with truncated nose as raced in the 1962 Monaco GP, for the Yeoman Credit team, and driven by John Surtees. It should be numbered as #28.

It has a Beardog chassis, which was partially built by me, and Chris Clark painted it. I still have it's original sister car in my collection.

1/32 Monogram Lola. This shows evidence of having been on the track for a few laps, unlike most of the other cars in this thread.

Update and to quote those blessed emissaries:

Jake: We're putting the band back together.

Mr. Fabulous: Forget it. No way.

Elwood: We're on a mission from God.

The team of Clark & Watson are back together. I have one car done I am nearly ready to send to Chris this week, with two more in the pipeline.
The idea is to eventually have a feature car in each issue of Slot Cars Magazine!
After publication we will post pictures here.

Rather than just pretty RTRs we are planning some cool-looking scratchbuilt weird and wonderful chassis designs dressed in Bosmeck haute couture!
