Chris,
The track in Satellite Beach was a large complex with three tracks, all of them custom-made. One track was a eight-lane road course called "Sebring" and modeled the real Sebring layout. The larger banked track was called Daytona because it had a high bank and dogleg coming out of the bank, and the third track I want to say was similar to an American black. All were eight-lane, and had very good power. We ran a lot of Dynamic chassis stocker races, Jail Door chassis class races, and some really off the wall powered stuff at the time. Thingies were unheard of, and I can remember having a Chaparral 2E in a chassis I built with Mura power having the track record on the Sebring track for a very long time. Mura and Champion rewinds ruled and there were a lot of good racers there.
The track closed up in 1972-ish, much to my surprise as it was the best facility for racing between Stuart and Daytona once the hillclimb in Fort Pierce closed up. I would drive up from Vero Beach every Saturday and Sunday to get my racing fix before I went off to college.
The track was on the Eau Gallie Causeway going towards the beach and I can't remember the name of the road that I had to turn onto to get to the track. The tracks were in a strip mall, and the shop was about half of the strip mall. It was big for the time.
Sorry, that's about all I remember it being forty years ago or better.
