[Because these are such desirable tracks (IMO) I am reposting this info over from OWH.]

Original American Orange

Located in Waxahachie, TX. 100 ft original American orange Monarch. Track needs work but is very repairable. If you're looking for a cool project this is the one. One of six known to exist. Comes with two adjustable power supplies and TrackMate timing system minus card (about a $65 part). Track is set up but not running.

$2,200. Call or text (972) 921-2527 Lonny. May consider trade for car, truck, motorcycle, what you got?

Great buys for someone. If I was not already committed to another King this would have been a really cool find.

Are there really only six existing oranges? I know of three total with one in Wisconsin, one in Wyoming and now this one in Texas.

No ideas on the numbers he cites.

LOL, Eddie.

If I could, I'd buy that orange in a heartbeat.

But I can't... darn it!

The blue King has the original whoop-de-doos on the straight.

Cheers.

Here's one for ya.

'I believe'... that the orange track can be set up differently and in more narrow footprint.

Sections come apart, the esses are left out, it turns out to be shaped like a King without a finger. (LOL )

The section with the water bottle in the third picture becomes the deadman and the bank goes to that end (drivers right).

After the deadman, short chute to the donut, to a left 90, then the lead on chute (lap counter section IIRC), to the left 90 back on the straight.

See if that puzzle makes any sense? If it doesn't... there is another orange that can be configured like that... was my favorite layout... Lodi, NJ.

Owner Lou said he had to re-config it to fit it where it was set up.

What was it?

I am so sorry to see this. I pray that someone will save these tracks from the dumpster.

I don't see this raceway listed in the directory. :unknw:

I don't believe this was a commercial raceway. But there has been several articles with numerous pictures of Lonny's tracks posted here and/or on OWH during the past three-four years.

Yes, it is/was a club/home track. And it is listed in the Club & Home Raceway List:

Doug Azary might know. He was going to call Lonny to see what the story was. Doug and his son have actually run on that king.

Just spent 26 minutes on the phone with Lonny.

Basically he said if he can't find the right home for them, they're not going anywhere. He knows the importance and the significance of them. Money is not the object here. He also has a ton of money and time involved in the tracks, especially the restoration of the King. Plus he has tons of time and effort in getting both tracks to his building.

That brings up another page to this story, the building. Lonny owns and runs a body shop. The building that houses his tracks was once one of his body shop buildings but he moved all of his body shop equipment out of this building to make room for not only the AMR tracks but several HO tracks as well. Apparently his body shop business has been going well and he could really use the space for his business. Plus, the building is not air conditioned, so holding Retro races on the King during the summer is pretty much out of the question. I know when my son and I played there three years ago it was QUITE warm in there.

As another side note, there is a very nice original Orange track here in Oklahoma that may be coming up for sale. It is in private hands. I'm not at liberty to discuss anything further about that, so please DON'T ASK! I will reveal any details whenever I can. I will say the track is up and running and from what I am told, it is in very nice condition.

BTW, Lonny did reply back to my PM and has updated me on the tracks currently at All Scale Raceway. The entry has been revised with the info he provided.

Braid at the very least and some inner guardrail/fascia based on what I see in the pics. Surface looks good based on what can be seen in the pics.

I have the orange from The Slot Shop. Reworking it section by section.
