A few have been vocal about there not being any Retro South racing this year. So who wants to race? When, where and what? Let's get some discussion going...

Please only respond if you're seriously considering participating....TIA.

Strong Can Am program at The Track in White House TN. There were 15 racers at the last race.. I know it's too far for some ..But I'm predicting a premier race real soon ,,,so better come and get it ready..Bring your coupes, Stockcars, and F1s..
Not your typical King track..Lots more fun...and a beautiful place as well..

I agree with J.C.  White House is too nice of a place not to race there.  First class all the way!

It can't be first class if you and John are allowed in.  :laugh2:  :tease:

Ralph Thorne is a very "schedule conscientious" person regarding conflicting dates with other slot car events. :)

With so many tracks in our area having launch issues with lower down force bodies would you guys be interested in running 4" Nascar, GTP, and Can Am?

Yes, yes, and yes. I often wondered why no one ever suggested racing flexis and retro cars together in a series;  that opens it up to a lot more racers.

Yep, count me in!  Ralph is good with scheduling so no problem.  I think the next BIG issue is not so much the general car rules but which motors to use for which class.  I'd highly recommend making it easy and just use Retro Hawks for all of the classes.

Ralph, I am in. Gil I am sure would be in too. Just tell us when and where. I think that is a fantastic idea on the flexi and retro.

I vote white house, dega, or snellville. Or all three in a 3 race series! Go, go, go!

I'm in! let me know when and where! I was just talking with one of our track owners about the flordia my series and thought we should start something here in ga. This thread seems like a good place to start. I also wouldn't mind running gp 12 as well!

To start off with this year I was thinking Retro Hawk motors in everything. Thats what 99% of people used in Retro South anyway and everyone should still have some. I want to make it low cost and easy on the racer's.

Maybe 4 or 5 races this year...July, August, September, October and November? Flashbacks, CMS, Talladega and White House or PTC SpeedZone?

The Viper Pit is just so far away for everyone, I dont see that being a big turnout.

Good plan on the motors, Ralph, now the question of which classes.

I think due to "launching issues" which many of the tracks seem to have we will have to run classes that have relatively high downforce. IRRA® Can-Am and Flexi GTP are very popular and easily fit the downforce requirement. Another very popular class would be a 4" Flexi stock car but I don't know if even the radical 4" stock car bodies out there have enough downforce to reliably stay in the slot.

Another possibility would be a wing car class, maybe something like a $100 wing car that also uses the Retro Hawk?

I would love some wing car racing. I still say just do three races though. Less races = more people at each race.
