Top six qualifiers seed into the A Main, next six in the B Main, next six in the C Main. The bottom 11 qualifiers will race in a round-robin D Main, with two move-ups from each sub-main.
The D Main is starting up, with the sit-outs getting some warm-up laps before the starting eight racers get their warm-up.

This was as good a slot car race as you'll ever see. A terrific end to the best Sano I've attended, though one tinged with a lot of sadness as we remembered everyone's always-smiling friend, Sano Dave Fiedler.
Put this event on your calendar for next year now!

The qualifying run for TQ that Ralph made was incredible, shattering the lap record by over 1/10 with his GVP machine. He suffered a slowing motor in the race. The Retro Hawk motors were very fast. Greg took the win with a massive record-breaking performance driving his Bartos chassis. The double is an amazing feat and Greg was just flying. A lot of effort went into achieving this level.

Another great Sano is in the books. Thank you and your wife for putting on this great race and your support of Retro racing. The food was great again this year. Hope to see everyone again next year.
Ralph was a rocket, But his Retro Hawk let him down, slowing badly. If the motor would have kept running the lap total would have been just as amazing as his TQ run.
I would like to thank everyone who was running GVP chassis. Ralph with second place finishes in Coupe Pro, Can-Am Plus, and Can-Am and fast race lap in Can-Am Plus, Howie with a win in Coupe Pro, second fast time time and fourth place in F1 on the King. Ralph, Howie, Raisin, Jeremy, and Tracy Chin for taking five of the the top eight fast times in Can-Am. John Miller and Jerry "Boogieman" Wyant who also ran GVP chassis.
Congrats to Greg Fox who had a great race and all the podium finishers.
Regards,
Greg VanPeenen

Thanks for the kind words.
I think you are being a little over dramatic about the Retro Hawk letting him down.
He broke the track record by seven laps.
Regardless, I got the impression his motor slowed after hitting something, or getting ridered into the wall.
PS: I know I'm only a part time Retro racer, but if I had a motor that strong personally, I wouldn't have hot lapped it so many laps.

The hit took the edge off the motor for sure and it lost a little brakes after that, but it was still a good motor, just not an exceptional one after the hit.
My best lap was in heat 1 on purple and Greg's best lap was in heat 8 on green. I slowed a touch and he picked up a touch.
Greg ran a great race, and won it fair and square in my book. No excuses here...

Mike and Jackie are first class people.
I have to thank all those who helped me on the technical side. All of them not only gave me the info on the set-ups but the why as well. In no particular order of preference - Mike, GVP, Noose, Bernie, KVP, Raisin, Larry Kelly, and Bill Fulmer. Hope I didn't miss anyone.
Everyone else were also very congenial. Great time

Yes, slowed a touch, as the sheets show.
From a speedy 4.452, on purple, the first heat, to a snail's pace 4.463, on blue, the last heat. LOL.
Granted, blue is a bit faster lane, but the motor didn't "slow badly", as GVP posted.
We didn't have any blown motors in the race that I saw, and the Retro Hawk produced probably the closest finish ever in Retro racing, on Friday.
Three laps, first to seventh, in GTC Pro.
Like most say, the Retro Hawk is the best thing that ever happened to Retro racing.

Could you please explain why after a hard hit the motor then goes away? I do not remember this happening with other Retro type motors... The TSR D3 and the Falcon 2 motors do not seem to mind taking a hard hit, so are the magnets much different on these Retro Hawks??? I know the brush material is different.
