Strangely enough, I am finding the 7Rs to be quicker than my private stash of Rs.

I decided that since we're using hand-outs I needed something to help me bench break-in the motors before I got on the track. We won't have time to run the hand-outs enough to get them to their fastest state.

So I dreamed up this Rube Goldberg setup to run the motor in beyond water break-in. My sample motor was brand new. I broke it in in water and initially it read .45 at 4 volts. I hooked it up to my RG device and ran it. The drag on the motor is from an old PSFK from which I removed the brushes and springs. I liked the cog effect. I ran the motor at varying voltages all the way up to 12v for a little while. I ran it up and down the volts as well.

After a total of 15 mins I re-tested the motor and it was up to .60 at 4 volts. No substitute for on-track break-in but I hope that it reduces the track time to bring a motor to its final power stage.

Someone with far better fab skills I'm sure can make a better one but mine sure is portable.
