Biscuit, The Hawk 7 varies the same as the Hawk Retro. Racers will go out and buy 30 motors in order to find the one rocket.
Also, "My Series" is already using the Hawk 7 in 2 of the 4 flexi car classes.

From Ralph Thorne today:Those motors that were tested could very well have been the "hybrid" motors with the old arm and new can. Not speculating just stating that it is a real possibility.
I tested 25 Hawk Retros today back to back. One was a 7R and 24 were Rs. The fastest motor I had was my 7R by half a tenth.
Ralph must of got another "hybrid". LOL.
I wonder how many "hybrids" there are out of the 10K(?) batch?
1K, 5K, 9K, or 9.5K? LOL.

The fact that nobody can prove anything one way or the other about these 7Rs confirms the conspiracy is working.

I went through my stash of Hawk motors last night and identified 20 "hybrids." Now this gets even better. I am going to send them out to get them powdered coated.

Time to break out the Doc Hawk and Jax Hawk (6) - they got two races each and don't even need brushes yet. DZ might even want one they are so good. Even my fast H7 motors won't keep up hahahaha.

A hybrid hawk must be like a balanced JK plastic hub?
I don't care about either, they don't make a fast car.

I haven't tested any like i said. Just asking questions based on what I've read in other places. I pushed for these motors in FL last year I know some were against it remember... Hopefully they are the same because the last thing I want is handout motors!! Would love to speed the cars up a tad I think many will find plenty of motor without buying as many. If the bulk buying was that big of an issue.... anything but handouts!!! Back to priorities, most of my concern right now is dealing with the front wheels...

This in a sad way is very satisfying for me, because I tried to tell all of you that this would happen when you run sealed motors that are very different from batch to batch.
Still not giving up hope for a built up American motor class to return to Fl. Myseries.

Jeff, agreed. My Series racers voted overwhelmingly to bring the JK Hawk 6 motor back. It should be an optional motor in the GTP car class in 2017.

When will the new My Series 2017 rules be posted? Time to start building cars and testing motors...

Charlie .... I just posted the snapshot. Here's the Reader's Digest version ....
General Rule change now allows either front wheels or sticker fronts in all classes except JK Indy.
JK Indy, 4" NASCAR, JK LMP classes have no changes from 2016
GTP class can now run either the JK Hawk 7 (same as 2016) or the JK Hawk 6 (same rules as 2015 in LMP)
Enduro cars will now use a GT Coupe body instead of a GTP body.
