They weren't bad but too late to the market. The Russkit was already the choice.

I've only seen one for sale on ePay a few years ago, and tried to buy it, but was outbid by onsomebeach (or something like that, Scott?) at about $35.
I'm 95% it was opaque blue, like Mike thought.
Maybe PdL can share photos of the LASCM ones at some stage.

Mike Swiss, I will take pics of the ones we have. I think that all are translucent plastic, but there could be solid colors, too.

Some Arco 400 history from Gator Bob...
"Swiss is right about the color and lead wires. Commercially they were only sold molded in blue" per letter and phonecon.
Green one is a (only known) prototype. If the handle is not molded CHAMPION, it isn't one".

We also have clear handles at the LASCM, as well as a set painted for Bob Rule by Dave Bloom for these controllers.

Thank you so much for posting this. I knew my Ferrari was a P4, but I didn't know it was a Champion (or sold by Champion).
The best part is, I was able to identify a Lotus 30 body that I had acquired. I knew I had seen it before, it was listed as a Ferrari. A mid-engine eight-cylinder Ferrari. As if.

As far as we know and researched, Champion never sold a Ferrari P4 body, either on a car or separately. The only Ferrari 330P4 slot car bodies made in period were by Lancer, Dynamic (two different models), and Testors (spyder version). There was supposed to be a Pactra model but it never entered production.
Can you post a picture of your car?

Lancer made a roadster also.

Yes, Lancer had a misnomer on their "P4 Can-Am". There were only three Ferrari 330P4s ever built, but after their last race in 1967 (the BOAC 500 in the UK), two of them received an open cockpit body and went (unsuccessfully) Can-Am racing. They were called by the works, "350P."
The Champion slot car company never marketed that Lancer body or the coupe version of it.
In the book "Slot Car Dreams," at the end there is a link to a listing of what is known of the production of most relevant companies, especially Champion's kits and RTR cars.
I encourage anyone to improve it by providing clear evidence of missing information.

Didn't take too long did it? The one on the left I'm not really sure of the manufacturer. The one on the right I thought was advertised as a Dino Ferrari by Champion. Please feel free to correct me on this. It will not hurt my feelings. In fact, it will probably make my day that much brighter.

That would explain the Dynamic chassis (pieces) that came with it. I try not to go by that.

The one on the left is a Lancer body used in the Ferrari 330P3 kit by Dynamic.
The body on the right is a 330P4 body that came with this kit (see add below) I assume it was a kit, it may of been a RTR. I have never seen how it was sold.
But it is a car I would like to add to my Dynamic collection. I believe you have the correct body.
Please let me know if you want to trade for something of more value to you?

Martin,
it was a RTR with the General Electric brick of a motor and sheet brass body mounts with wire clips, sold inside the later Dynamic well-illustrated cardboard box used for all the post 1968 RTRs.
And, Dynamic had yet another P4 coupe, even flatter but also shorter, sold only as a clear, unpainted body.

Thanks, Philippe, for the info.
It must be a fairly rare car as I have only seen one or two used cars in all my searching.
I assume the Dynamic add art work specs printed above is correct, so an easy car to replicate. Could you share a pic of the RTR car in question?
#47

Not so easy to replicate because that version of the P4 body is truly scarce.

I meant the roller was the easy part to replicate.
Was this body made Dynamic or ???
Still have never seen a boxed car. Does the LASCM have one? Are there pics available?

Martin,
yes, the LASCM has both models. Yes, both bodies were produced by Dynamic. I hope to be going there in the near future and will take pics.
