REF previously questioned: Width of HUSTLER, in the 1965 Feb Rod & Custom shows a longer 14 pole arm and the restoration using a Ram 7 pole needed spacers to make up the difference.

Referring back to previous question about why are the spacers being used in the restoration

We used spacers because built this way, it matches as close as possible, the very precise B&W pictures supplied by Gene Husting many years ago.

Good answer. You are not trying to build a faster Gene Husting dragster, just bring it back as closely to what it was as you can.

anybody know anything about the front wheels, the hole count doesn' match a K&B #213, maybe Gene's custom made?

HUSTLER 3 (See image previous post #84), built for looks not speed, because original custom-made Lindsey 14 pole arms not available, so replica substitute Ram arm is positioned bass ackwards so timing reversed or would run great the next time the earth's magnetic poles flip, but runs well, not great.
