Thanks for all the help guys, I finally got this Stinger close enough to call it finished. I may re-do the right corner that was missing, sometime in the future, I built it up with epoxy but it's too thick in the corner and it made the color too dark. I did do a little more shaping (after the pics)on on that right rear corner to narrow and soften some. Not sure how it got broken off, but that's the way I bought it. It had no signs of ever being run and no brown spots, so was happy to get it to mate up with the chassis I had. Never did find the hinge parts and learned I had the accessory motor mount but wanted the stock 36D as it would have come from the factory.
When doing the stripe on the wing I laid down a foundation of .007" body armor. A 1/4" wide strip with three 3/16" holes that matched and built up around the rivets. In an attempt to make more level. Its better, but you can still see the witness of the rivets. Oh well. Remember this wing was glued to another damaged body and took a few sessions to free it. I found naptha softens the glue and if you score the contact area with a blade the fluid penetrates and weakens the bond.
I did not end up using the paper stripes they looked washed out to me, so I used the Pactra pin striping tape. I am thinking Classic never put the stripe behind the wing and over the back but was on a roll and thought it looked good. easy enough to peel off if i decide it's too much.
I see now that I need to take the front wheels off and polish, so I will do that. All for now. Lets see whats next?????
