Hopefully you can create two flexi class's.  One that is fairly open for the more experienced racers--and a simple LMP class with SEALED motors etc for the rookies.  Perhaps you can have a rule that once you've won 3 races as a rookie you move up to the other class.  That may encourage more newbies to give it  a try.

Advertising the track anywhere in the area?  Local hot rod shops-- etc?

Good luck with it!!

She's real fine, my 409!!!

I will have the two flexi classes. The regular racing class currently running will continue. And the more restrictive Box Class will be happening soon. I'm going to keep it clamped down tight. I've got some guys on a budget that just can't buy the high end controllers and such. I have sold....I'm guessing over 20 box stock JK cars easily.  So I know there are some box stock there.

Not open yet.  I was there two weeks ago helping to prep a couple of tracks.  They still have a ways to go before they're ready to open.

Thanks for the info. The lockdown must have really hurt.

As far as other scales go, does any 1/24th scale track also have an active HO track? At the local tracks that have had both scales I never saw much interest in HO.

I know that above Bill mentioned Modelville Hobby/Lenjet Raceway in Ashland MA.  They run a very active HO race program and 24 scale program. They have held three HOPRA National Championship races at the facility and average 105 drivers per event. They have five 24 scale tracks including the original 220 foot Purple Mile that was originally at Playland At The Beach. They have at least ten H O scale tracks including a custom H O scale Purple Mile and a restored Car Model Magazine Engleman style H O track. Their restored American Black track has magnetic braid which is also used for 32 scale racing for magnet and non magnet racing.

Yes, I'm sure of that since it's more of a "family entertainment center" than a racer-oriented slot car facility.  With facilities like that pretty much shut down through most of the past 9 months, not much point of rushing to open.  And now that they are severely restricting gathering size again, it will probably further delay the opening.

Raceways should consider themselves as "Autonomous Vehicle Research Laboratories" where "customers" are independent researchers studying vehicle dynamics and human/machine coordination paradigms. The track time is merely a fee to the facility for the use of the course in the study and research needed to bring autonomy to the automotive industry and improve the interactions of machine and user.
