Thanks Mike.....been wanting to make this for some time. Only the prototype existed when they stopped making any new accessory buildings. I stumbled upon that base from a Faller kit and it is what was used on the original.....Steve

Steve- several years back there was an Aurora website set up by the grandson (?) of one of the Aurora founders and he/they said that they had molds from prototype models that were never produced. There was a list of them, and they wanted model kit collectors to voice their opinions of which kits to produce. Then the website dissapeared. Maybe with some research you can find that information.

 

Matt- yes: FUN! That is why we here in New Jersey race vintage slot cars- to have FUN!  Have yet to try racing a Monogram car. I am thinking about racing more hardbody cars in our vintage series, as i did race a Cox Cheetah once. A handful on the track- lots of power, but i had rears that did not give enough traction, and not sure how to add weight to the chassis. I may just build a car with one of the Tamiya slot car reissue body kits and a Dynamic chassis. don't want to break an original Cox car.

Hey Glenn....Ill have to look that up......Now, this thing just sold the other day....Ken and Roger are the sons of Derek Brand....an Aurora exec......They are selling interesting test shots on Ebay......Steve

Progress....Looks big on the base but, all scale components.....Just the photo angle & distance...K-Balling kits and heading to Hobby Lobby for vertical plank styrene.......We are going to mold the base from resin........I have vintage Atlas HO people......That guy will be climbing back up that ladder in no time......
