New Marlin train wires soldered to old skool Parma brass clips. Original Dynamic 1/8 flag, one 10 thou bronze Koford spacer above, one below (to start), and a Classic weight. JK Big narrowed hubs, Koford rear axle, and a dyed 28T Parma crown. After I pin the new body, I'll custom make a pair of brass spacers to make the width 3.0"

Total weight will be barely 70 grams (hey it's USRA legal for boxstock class  ) and balance point is just ahead of the endbell bushing.

The starboard axle bushing conflicts with the crown so I shaved both it and the gear down a little for clearance. I think the pink is sexy so I won't re-dye it  :D

Drivetrain test was a success and as I suspected, it really scared me  :D  At 5 volts she draws about 3.5 amps. No problem there, but a 6T 48P pinion chewing on a 28T crown with that much horsepower is kind of spooky. Mated to a light chassis with huge wheels and a scale body, it probably wouldn't make a good rental car  :laugh2:  Track test this Saturday; we shall see

Track test, very successful  :D  As predicted, the motor was somewhat of a screamer - it needed the controller sensitivity turned way up (down?) to get the little amp sucker moving and the brakes needed to be full off. But, my hopes of it being manageable due to the low-torque, lightweight motor with the added lead on the chassis and the narrowed wheels came true, it really handles sweet and it's easy to drive. The hi-timed X12 arm does run warm, but the owner won't be running enduros with it  :laugh2:. I promised him if it cooks I'll install a tamer arm in it no charge.

Buddy Mitchell has it back in his hands and loves it. Now everybody is happy  :good:  :sun_bespectacled:  Wish Dallas could see it now

Have you ever thought of building a "Pablo- version" of this chassis? It'd be a true test on one's wire bending ability & might even become as famous as those Russkit brass rod/tube inline chassis. Or you could do an F1 & clone Floyd Manley's 3 oz. lightweight.

Yes, Bill, I have thought about doing a Pablo version of the "birdcage" style chassis. I was amazed at how well it handled :)

I'm also amazed you think my "wire-building ability" needs to be "tested". Really? ^_^

Buddy, if the X12 arm ever fails, I have a complete replacement 13uo motor for it. Havlicek built with 30 wire. Perfect motor for that car
