So clean and precise
Do you spray the blue driving suit?
Posted 16 April 2020 - 11:01 AM
Thanks for the kind words Martin. It definitely looks better the farther away you are. I keep taking the pictures to close.
Everything is brush painted except the gloss aluminum on the interior and the blue drivers helmet.
I know it would look better if I could do that dry brushing shadows like you artists........but that's just not me.

Well thank you Jairus.
You know, it's weird but when I got out of the hospital a few years ago I went on an eBay selling binge to thin out my collection. I guess I wanted to ease the burden on my family if the worst happened. Without realizing it at the time, the cars I sold were the ones I did not paint. Not because the Pro painted cars didn't look great. They certainly did.
I think it was because I REALLY struggle to paint my cars and when I pull off an OK job I become really fond of it............wait............ HOLY SMOKES It' must be a Slot Car Stockholm Syndrome............ "hostages develop a psychological alliance with their captors during captivity."
I did keep two favorites I couldn't part with. One of yours.........
.............and one from Noose:
Two of my favorite builds with the perfect paint schemes that I could never hope to duplicate.

Thanks Martin.
Tim, I guess I just like to spiff up my favorite things. Plus I'm currently not using glue on the track (urethane tires) and I'm the only one running on it.

Urethane tires rather than sponge answers my question. Even without glue, sponge will leave some residue on the track and the braid. Thanks.
