This car would have been right at home at Ron Granlee's Speed & Sport, with a seven tooth pinion it would even run in an open main on an American Orange. Very good looking build.

Jesse, this comment almost makes me weep. You're another original SoCal guy, right? So many dudes originally from SoCal.
I was 14yo in 1970, so just a little too young to make my way down to Speed & Sport. But my local track (Checkered Flag in Sunland Tujunga, if you remember where that is) had an Orange that I ran on. I would so love to run this on an Orange right now.

Mike, I actually am an Arizona racer that used to go to races in the west along with others that used to pile into somebody's car and head out to race. My first trip out was to a race in West Covena that was held on an Orange track, was late July I recall as I turned 16 while there. I raced at Rosecrans Raceway and Speed & Sport on many occasions in the old days. I used to travel in my 1969 MGB along with my racing buddy David Fortner from Tucson. We made it up to the Bay area to race on occasion that made my B cough up a lung in the middle of nowhere, I was a skilled mechanic and fixed things to get us home though.
I have some very good memories of my 1963-1972 racing days, many of the guys here on the blog from other states were SoCal racers as teens so you would be surprised as to who was next to you at the track.
