 Just took the time to look at this thread and say that is a great looking track. love the fit and finish and I always liked wide pin striping. Just to answer Mike Swiss' question, yes you can plane MDF. A long time ago I stopped using pine for joints and started using MDF. We bought sheets of 1 1/4" thick MDF and laminated a 1/2" sheet to that. Cut it up, put tongues in it planed the rough sides and added a top and bottom plate. Then split the top and bottom plate so it will come apart. A better joint for a lot less money than #1 pine or equivalent.
