Just checked my 222 stash. One of them is ground down to match the 36d magnets. The other are to big to fit without grinding. I think Ram did offer the regrind as an option..... NOW to see about balencing it....

Good to know.
With 44 ft., you would think it would be plenty, but who knows?
I haven't glued the shutdown yet, because I'm still painting the 102 ft. of "floating" sidewalls.
I don't want to reinstall them on a sticky track.
It's been a job, painting them, because they are a tight, press fit, on the track surface, so I have to avoid getting paint into the dadoed slots.
Once they are on, I'll start running cars hard.
I'm hoping to get modern motor stuff , above 150mph, on the higher power.
What was the top speed of your magwinders on the 16.2V?

What are you going to run for power Mike? We would run 3 12 Volt car batteries in series. Those big motors need Amps!

A 50 amp power supply, to start.
I think that will be plenty.
Certainly for fun.
You guys ran 3 batteries because you didn't have good power supplies.
And 3 batteries, in series, fully charged, is over 40V.

IIRC 50 mph was the lofty goal, but I don't think anyone made it. With the rudimentary timing systems of the day, I don't recall that trap speeds were shown.

Floyd's Husting's replica ran 51mph at the same event.
It was a couple of years ago & I thought it would have been faster seeing that I have run 43mph on 16 volt.

Before I left the raceway, last night, I took Ray's proxy, 857 powered Willys, down the strip, a few times.
I'm amazed how nice it hooks up, and goes down the strip, even on no glue.
At 14.5V, with no glue in the shutdown, it uses all 44 ft. of it.

I'll, of course, be happy to host a proxy event once things calm down on the planet.

Mike I assume the shut down is shorted to brake the cars. The heavy glue will make all the difference but you may need some sort of cushioning at the very end just in case.

My heavy Cobra plowed through thick glue and many wadded up towels to finally get stopped at Eddie's:
I finally got the Patto's Place "King Cobra" decals clear coated and on the car. It only took 2+
years since my last post!

Dragsters have returned from the Slot Car Proxy Drag Race World Challenge down south. "SPARKY" was fast , "TRIHEDRON" (upper dragster) was slow, could not hook-up @ 36VDC.
