When I saw your orientation issue, I hadn't seen the Skeels article.
As the article alludes to, steel chassis had hit the scene.
Below are my first 2 chassis, when I got back in, in late '81.
The one on the left is from a Parma RTR I15 car, I bought, that was amazingly competitive around here, even before I started cutting it up.
The one on the right was built by me, in late '81, or most likely, early '82.
It was my first 1/24 chassis build since '70 or '71, when I was 15 or 16.
