Hi Richard
being Bob Suzuki's chassis made for a 26D the MacKee's body would not fit over it.
The cut out was the only thing to do for Jairus to pair the 2 elements.
Mind you, the MacKee should've been paired with an anglewinder if we wanted to be period correct. In that case a 16D size motor would've been mandatory and the body would fit perfectly.
But I still resist the idea of having too many anglewinders around my toy room ;)

Hi

In the day I did a cro-sal olds/Mckee, but it was from the "scale" period by Russkit. In both scales. I don't remember a "handling" version. but like the Ti, one of those failures I liked better as a slot car than a real car!

For ME, there is a pleasure in having a car that isn't "legal" for anything. Right now, I am restoring a quartet of Dynamic Anglewinders I have. I have no idea what the stock configuraion was as I never ran them that way THEN. Always used "frankenmotors" and bodies I liked. I know P knows what they came with, I don't remember as I raced them in commercial track 1/32 "serious" racing, meaning they changed hourly.

Similarly, I have surviving cars from 66 through 68 and none of them are legal "jail door" or "D3"! But my old cronies and I get together and run them. Probably 20 years ago, while in LA, the comment was "these are survivors? Not like anything I saw in the mags".

I like the above car a lot. And if you had fun, I am good with it!

Hi Edo,

Great looking car.

Say, are the front wheels period or are they the AroDyn Telescope wheels I think I sent you  .

The MacKee might be a bit of a poetic license on an inline, what do you say Bob?

Ciao Bob, and thanks again!

I like that car A LOT. CAN I HAVE IT!! I guess I'll have to build another one for myself. Speaking of poetic license...later versions of that car had a HUGE turbocharger sticking out the top...so in theory the 26D poking through is period correct...to the original car! :laugh2:

Those Associated telescopic front wheels are too kool. I'm waiting for some ED clones so that I can mold some low friction black urethane tires on them.

Nice paint, Jairus! I like the hand painted numbers. :sun_bespectacled:

There's nothing wrong with being "period korrect" but not EVERYthing has to be "period korrect", right? There's enjoyment to be found in "variation"; ever hear of a guy named Salvador Dali? Or of some guy called "Picasso"? :D

And if its guide weight is slightly more orange in color (bearing brass) than the rest of the chassis, it might be a Bill-turned item. :laugh2: :laugh2:

Hi Bob,

I'm sorry to interrupt Edo's great thread but I wanted you to know that Steve and I have had telescope style wheels made. We got tired of waiting ;) . They are Steve O's brainchild............

Posted Image

............they fit readily available "fat" O-rings and when ground down look like the wheel on the top right:

Posted Image

An original Associated wheel is on the top left for comparison. Our wheels really shine, literally, if you spin them in a drill and hit them with a Scotch Brite pad or some 600 sandpaper.

Indeed they are, Rick! Sorry, I should've credited you and Arodyn immediately.

Pablo. Pablo, Pablo!

What am I gonna do with you?

The chassis to the right of Bob's is Bob's Cukras replica, which is on this thread, post 24:

Hey, but that's a good thing that you came in: now that I notice again, I've gotta change that horrible modern motor wire and narrow down those rears on Bob's chassis you see here above yours!

BTW If you need a NOS Cox 29T crown, instead of some pink thing for your Loligo Thingie, lemme know and I'll send it free of charge. ;)

Hi Edo,

One more thing and I stop on the wheels. I had to buy 100 minimum order. That's way more than I'll use in my lifetime. If anyone else wants some of these wheels and tires just PM me.

And now back to our Master Assembler and keeper of "Korrect" :thank_you2:

And now back to our Master Assembler and keeper of "Korrect" ...

Rick,

you're too nice. I will try to live up to the "Master" (although I really am a "maverick-formerly troubled assembler" ;) and off course to the "Korrect" part of it.

The truth is:

Vintage Slot Is A Burning Thing
And It Makes A Fiery Ring
Bound By Wild Desire
We Fell Into A Ring Of Fire

Indeed,

today we're taking a slight departure from Inline Pro replicas and look into Inline Vintage Assemblies made with genuine "back then" parts we were able to find and use.

Let's begin with this cute flatten down Dynamic (?) Lola (?), found already painted, to which Master Watson made a nice interior for:

Dear Master Motor Mangler,

We're considering an Honoris Causa degree in slot poetry for your sensitive approach to delicate words describing the torment, the angst if you will, caused by our enslavement to such colorful toys.

Forever delighted

Hi Gary

the McLaren was found on Ebay, by my friend Swissracer, a couple of years ago. It was a full car whose chassis I cannot remember the make.

I exchanged the body for some vintage parts and then proceeded to assemble it with the Ferret.

I would love to post my in line assemblies but they are mostly made out of Dynamic, Champion and other parts and I'm not convinced the "Pro car" forum is the proper place.

Maybe the "Production 1/24 Vintage Cars " forum is better, innit?

What do the mods (and Mr.dc-65x) have to say about that?

Patiently waiting for an indication, gentlemen, I wish you the best.
