They've been a modest seller so far, but I kind of expected them to need some time to catch on.

I wonder why they coined those tongues up so much. I built another car for the upcoming enduro with an old FCR. With two CR .032 brass spacers under the standard flag, front end still clears by a mile. Maybe they were originally intended to use .125 deck height flags?

I'm new to racing bricks, so I don't know the lingo. What is an H & R car? I have to admit, these type cars are fun. Once I figured out the Velcro body mounting deal, I was in my groove
I built a car for the 28 January Daytona 3 Hour Enduro but my driver Courtney will do the hard work at the drivers panel. Me, I'll be sitting in the back serving crock pot chili and corn muffins. I know my place in this event Hot crock pot and a hot Hakko 454

H&R makes a universal type chassis for hardbody racing. It is designed to fit a wide variety of model car bodies. The chassis has a guide tongue kick-up far higher than what we commercial track racers want.
I don't remember how much kick-up there was on the old FCR, but if Roger is just using the old tooling as it was, then the kick-up will be the same. The part of the tool that creates the tongue could have been modified to correct this, but that would cost a fair amount of money. If he had new tooling made, that error should have been caught in either the 3-D model of the chassis or the one for the tool. In any event, Mike Swiss has the ultimate answer. A smart builder with reinforce the guide tongue, and adding his part below the tongue eliminates the problem.

The chassis comes with a protective greasy film on it, so first step was to SOS pad it. The bottom is already perfectly flat. The uprights needed some straightening but it was easy.
Not trying to get too fancy just yet before I get this all figured out. I simply jigged the axles/bushings up and soldered them in
Pablo, could you tell me what chassis jig this is and where I might get one? My local track just started running a GRC series and want to get one to help setup my cars.

Once nice afterthought on the Rick's jig is it has pin locations to build both 1/32 & 1/24 scale cars if you desire.
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.
