I have told guys to try doing some calligraphy first to understand the strokes and formation of letters.  Get the practice down on paper.  Then experiment with a brush.  It also helps if one can write and print neatly to start with.  Now that they are starting to not teach cursive writing in schools, the future generations will be lettering with an X.

Thanks Guys for the hints and tips.

Joe your work is inspirational, Your color choice and graphics turn these bodies into works of art.

I played around with some enamal  and brushes yesterday. A bit stiff, but I will keep at it until it (hopefully )replicates what you and the other pros where doing now and back in the day.

I always felt like the lettering and the star bursts etc. are what gave a pro slot car its own identity and not just a replica of a 1/1 race car.
