Fellas,

 

 The MARCH Meeting of the C.AR.S. Vintage Slot Car Club will be held next Thursday MARCH 3rd at THE RACE PLACE in Farmingdale N.J. at 7:30 PPM.

 

As announced previously the theme for the March meet is FRENCH Cars... racecars, road cars, one off you name it.

 

Additionally, we'll once again attempt to hold a timed event for the club members on one of the tracks. The event will be for 1/24 scale.

Not going to make this one next week - my brother is playing locally and I haven't seen him in months, so I'm going to rock out to some tunes.

 French cars being the March theme... Mikey's BUGATTI "TANK" was here in spirit...

 

Next up my "Faux French Ferrari in Blue" and the old BUGATTI with Pactra chassis and a modern motor.

 

Last but not least, Rodney's TALBOT-LAGO GP car with detailed driver and brass wire chassis. Tall period style wheels/tires complete the build.

Fellas,

 

 A special surprise for those that have read this far. As when it was open, BUZZ-A-RAMA'S closing has had quite an impact on the slot car hobby. After many years of storage, all of the inventory of the Brooklyn based shop has now seen the light.

As this is written, slot cars and parts of all eras and descriptions are hitting the nation's slot tracks.

 

 With renewed enthusiasm old timers as well as newbies are discovering or renewing the joy of driving an old style chassis BIG can powered Ford GT around the track, or finally finding that part that'll enable the old car in your box to run once again, photos to follow...

Guys,

 

 We had several regulars in attendance last night as well as Nick and a couple of newbies from the Empire state, Jim and his old friend Ralph. Both Nicky and the newbies are Buzz-a-Rama Alumni and the stories just kept coming...along with several New/Old stock vintage slot cars from Buzzy's stash.

 

Here's a few to feast your eyes on for now. As far as I know, these cars along with Nick's Ford GT above were just recent assembled using parts from the Buzzie's basement.  I lost track of which car belonged to who but I'm sure we'll be seeing more of the cars and their drivers in the future.

 

 Look for a Special Announcement this month that will be sure to cause some to excitement here on the C.A.R.S. Slotblog page.
