I soldered the bearing into the can using an old (but not bad) arm, the endbell adapter has a very precise snap fit, I will probably glue the bearing with loctite...

This Champion can already has two holes as standard for fixing the endbell, however I feel more confident if I make two more on the side...

Where did you find the bearing adapter? I've been looking for over a year for them?

A friend of mine made them on a lathe.
Unfortunately he's retired now. In 2007 I inherited from my father a little gem that is a "Meccanica Cortini" lathe, it has slept in the basement since then...

Nice build! Are you going to use spring insulation on the motor springs?  :)

Yes, I used a black insulation on the side where the spring touch the shunt against the carbon..
For the other side I'd like to find some transparent silicon tube...
this is for aesthetics because, in fact, with a single insulation it has interrupted the flow of current and protected the spring where it is hottest

Here is what I've been using Maurizio. It comes in different gauges and wall thicknesses. Unfortunately Small Parts, Inc is no more. Hope this gives you an idea of what to search for.

I have to honest Maurizio, the paint job was not one of my favorites either. I am with Dario on this one.

The chassis looks great BTW. :good:

Here are a few paint ideas from Gene's world. Gene has a great line of Thingy bodies.

I believe Gene's cars are hand-painted. He does a great job building the chassis too. He's had a least one "how-to" chassis article posted on here.
