One oddity of the Pelican Park track is that the lap counter is not at the start/finish line. The lap counter is on the lower straight near the end of the grandstands, whereas the start/finish line is at the start of the upper straight which leads to the banked turn.
Sharp-eyed viewers might notice that the lap counter shows that Yellow tripped the counter first at the end of the last lap, but the race isn't over until the leader crosses the finish line. White regained the lead in the donut and Yellow destotted in the lead-on in a last-ditch effort to retake the lead. You don't have to be in the slot to win at Pelican, so there was a brief controversy about the finishing order. That was quickly resolved in favor of White. Watching the last moments of the race in slow-mo confirms the result.
As the guy driving the white lane, I felt that I rather lucked-out. Both Cully in blue and Gary in yellow out-drove me. I just managed to avoid trouble and squeaked out the win. It was a great night of racing and as they say, "a good time was had by all."
