Except they keep calling them toys. Please call it a hobby at least.

At the beginning of the video he calls it the sport of slot car racing, which seems like a stretch to me. My opinion is that any exposure is good for slot cars, and I don't think calling them toy cars hurts anything.

The cars look like real cars which is what drew me to the 1/32 scale hardbody racing.

Slot car racing hasn't made a comeback here in the six New England states. I lost my last local raceway in 2010. Today in the six-state area, we have Modelville Hobby in Ashland, MA, and 1010 in Bristol, CT. My traveling days to make a slot car race ended 40 years ago.

I still travel two plus hours each way to the Retro races. Bristol is only about 65 minutes away and an easy drive on RT 84 but they do not open until late afternoon and by that time the trip is total bumper to bumper. That leaves me out.

You had me sweating when we started racing against each other a couple years back.

Some of these guys we race against smell like a locker room, If you went off smell, some can make it a solid argument.

1/32 on commercial wood tracks are a joke. You can time the laps with a hourglass.

Yes, out of the box... add hotter motor, sponge tires... some massaging - can be fun.

These large commercial tracks are to big for 1/32 scale racing. It's not about speed, it's about competition and fun. Smaller tracks 100ft or less work very well for 1/32 scale racing. Just my opinion.
