I like to ask 1/32 and HO scale racers to send me pictures of their home layouts. Some are very basic, some are very detailed but when a customer said his was over 200' in running length I had to see it.

Most people who race on large tracks don't like them. Unless you're practicing every day you never get good on the track because you can't remember what turn is coming up next. Back in the 60's a few raceways built huge 8 lane 1/24 scale tracks (300+ feet) people would practice on them once and when they spent more time going after their car than running it they didn't run on it anymore.
I went with Cheater to that track in a mall in Atlanta that had a plastic track that was huge. Not fun to play on, I ran on it for 15 minutes and that was enough.

The 1/32 track that was in the Lawrenceville Mall in Atlanta is now at Alpine Raceway in Helen, Georgia and was made LONGER, over 400 feet. I tried it and I had the same impressions as you.

Difficult to marshal unless you had one of those spring clamp pick-up sticks with a 10 ' or 15' handle. Or just keep the voltage low so no one ever deslotted.

I would give up just trying to push the car around to get a full powered lap.
