My understanding is that Scaleauto is the first cars and other car brands as Carrera, Scalextric, NSR, etc,.will be future events. Watched Two Lines Racing (YouTube) video last night and it was very informative.

The “Nationals” races sponsored by the manufacturers and hosted by one or more track owners seem to be gaining momentum lately. I hope you can position your organization as a facilitator of the growth of these types of races and not an unintended obstacle. Dealing with lots of vested interests wanting to preserve their roles while building something new and bigger is always a challenge. I wish you the best of luck.
 

Maybe one day we’ll see multi-track racing in gyms and convention centers like you saw in Europe.

Motorsports is a big deal in Europe... not so much in the USA. But with F1 making major inroads in the USA market maybe it will change.

 

All the 1/32 plastic car manufacturers are in Europe. USA manufacturers (the few that are around) are mostly 1/24 based.

 

For the most part slot racing here in USA is a dying sport... but new thinking and ideas need to be had to expand the sport here, best of luck to those that are trying.

What is making it so popular in Europe? What are they doing different than here in the US? I has to be more than just the scale.

The raceways in Europe are club like (family friendly), and there are after school activities that are slot cars

I've been told by someone I consider a reliable source that national or provincial governments outside the US provide recreation subsidies to slot car clubs which has never happened in the US so far as this person or I'm aware.

 

It's also important to consider the relative size of Europe, for example, compared to the US. In Europe, several national championships can be closer at hand than even driving to the next state in the US.

 

Being someone who travels to other US states and regions for access to slot car raceways, I'm well aware of the time and costs involved in reaching distant raceways, which I'm sure is at least partly an issue.

 

I also believe European countries may have more liberal 'holiday' (time off from work) policies than the typical 5-day (or more) work week in the US, giving people more time for recreation.
