Just a YouTube short showing commodity-level DC motor production: armature winding, magnet insertion, endbell installation, and retention. Pretty much everything...
BTW, we have all seen this motor somewhere other than slot cars but the principle is the same.

Looks like they just jam the endbells on with the brush tabs forced over the commutators.
Was there any testing until he motors were completely assembled? I expected to see a reject pile of about 20% or did I miss that part?
I worked in a place that made lots of alternators and motors but none that small. At one time we wound windshield washer pump motors. When I was a kid I tried to make them work in a slot car. They were about the size of the Globe motor. Plenty of torque but no rpm.
