I've read that you should not oil the endbell side of your motors... Any thoughts?

Very very little,just don't put enough that will run down on the comutator.

Use a pinpoint oiler & carefully place a drop or two. Some will say no because sloppy oiling & over-oiling can get onto motor comm & foul the motor brushes. If you're careful & take your time placing the oil, you won't have any problems.

with motor designs that can be serviced, i always added a phenolic armature spacer next to the comm to act as an oil slinger. also useful at the drive gear position when soldering to keep solder and flux away from the can bearing.
