How can a new motor and spec gear rule be implemented mid-season?

One track owner and the BoD director decide the fate of the rules for the other track owners and all racers with the vote at the first race of the season, only asking the participants of that one race to vote.

Spec gears are straight trash.

All I hear is Marcus saying, oh, I don't know, we have to talk to Ed for every rule change, yet we don't talk to the other owners to inplement a new motor rule and a spec gear change.

Marcus and BoD director (who is always a messenger) hold a vote for a slower motor and a spec gear ratio.

Ya'll can keep the rules and the series.

What gets me was the vote at P1 to change this motor. There was no mention of a vote to anyone. It was not announced. Every time i ask Ed about a rule he always says I'm not sure because Marcus wanted it. Then I ask Marcus about it and he says because of the boss Ed. There is no rule that says you can change the rule in season, this is BS. I get it some people can't drive faster motors. However they will still finish in the same position they do with the faster motors. Also why is it just the cr102, not not the road runner like the other 2 classes? More BS. We dont even have a full schedule posted but changing rules mid season.

Why dont we just make it a IROC series.

What would have happened if we just decided to have a vote today at Fast Eddies to over turn that vote? I mean its just make up the rules as we go now.

The only class we could recycle tires in GTP and it's goes to a Spec gear so you can't gear the motor according to tire diameter. It's BS.

I can except dropping the Raptor, but spec gears in all three 3classes is where I draw the line in the sand and walk away from the FSCS.

Stockcar whatever spec gears is OK.

Its time for the racers to put on your pullups in LMP and we should only have a spec pinion.

GTP it's time to pop the tit outta your mouth grab your nuts and go racing. Period.

I understand the frustrations, and the effort to make things better.

Be thankful that you have places to race. At this point I would like to have a place to race most anything.

Carry on.

i would have to agree with what Eddie stated, we need a place to play with our toy cars. Changing rules during a race series doesn't make sense for various reasons. Having a drivers meeting and a vote on what rule changes, if any, before the series begins would seem to make more sense and would allow discussion and voting to set things up, not to mention time for racers and track owners to aquire new parts.

We use to run a best five out of six weekly NASCAR points race with a couple of weeks off in between series. Always had drivers meetings. It's important to keep attendence up even if you can't keep everyone happy, otherwise your customers will vote with their feet and they will be gone.

Track owners, you own the track and pay the rent but the boss walks in through the front door.

Warmest regards,

Again ..... I have no vote.  Haven't had a vote since back in 2015 when I was part-owner of a raceway and it was "My Series."  My only interaction with the FSCS rules process is to collect the ideas tossed out on Slotblog and. Facebook and to try to prod the owners into making some decisions.  You're giving me WAY too much credit by referring to me as the "BOD Director."  Just like a few other racers, I've voiced my opinion to Ed, Joe, and Marcus ... but they're their own boss and have rarely done what I think.  When they have, it's been purely coincidence.

You're welcome to take over as the "idea gatherer."  (And I'd bet Dale would welcome you taking over as the guy keeping track of the points and posting results and pictures.) I started prodding those guys back in October (maybe earlier?) and it's frustrating as hell.  They're busy.  They have raceways to run and just don't spend much time on Facebook or Slotblog.  So ... I have tried to make them aware of various issues in hopes of getting to vote so the rules and schedule can get done in a timely manner.  In that regard ... I failed miserably this year.  Let me warn you about what you're getting into in your new role and info collector .... they're busy and each have their own preferences about how to communicate.

BTW .... in fairness to Marcus .... at the February race at P1, he said, "Hey guys ... what do you think about ...." to gauge interest.  He DID NOT say, "hey, I'm changing the rules."  The guys that were there were agreeable  .... but might have been agreeable to almost anything that would have made that race less of a wreck fest.  My guess is that he was going to talk to Ed at the March race in Pinellas.  Unfortunately, Marcus's wife had to go to the ER Saturday evening so he didn't come to the race.

But y'all are all up in arms about a rule change that hasn't happened when neither of you were at the race.

Good luck in your new role.  Just like some work promotions .... there's no pay increase.

Long Live the FSCS

The Series Pushed me to RETRO Racing 4 years ago.

I enjoy racing Flexi cars, but with all the P1 RULES taking hold of the LAST FSCS CLASS . I will stick with my Retro cars permanently.

I wasn't at the P1 race to voice my opinion on the Rule Change, but a Respected P1 racer told me yesterday when I was talking with Eddie about this BS, In all fairness to Marcus, it was Rollin the BOD who presented the vote and was pushing the change at P1, it wasnt just Marcus. I can't believe he didn't say something when you were talking about it( going off).

I'm sure you didn't wake up that morning before the P1 race Rollin and think how can we upset some of the racers and add another SPEC CLASS, but it happened.

Maybe it's just me and Brian that dislike all the SPEC crap, no other racers speak up, they just follow along like sheep. The owners are my friends. You can disagree with people and still race against them, talk with them and be friends.

See ... you think you know, but you don't.

Marcus asked me to layout the scenarios available if Daytona was to be added to the schedule.  And I did just that.

The GTP motor conversation was Marcus throwing out his idea to gauge racer interest.  I'm not sure how that has morphed into a formal rule change.

BTW .... For the record - again - I'm still not in favor of making GTP a spec class.

Did you raise your hand at P1 for spec gears and motor change, Rollin?

That's what was proposed, Rollin.

How did you vote? How did you propose this, Rollin; were you silent when this conversation happened or were you advocating for this rule change?

Asking for a friend.

What is the spec gear ratio? I remember gearing LMPs the same for all the tracks down there, so if the gear ratio is what everyone is already running it doesn't seem like a real problem.

The motors arent tapped out at 14-35, if you jig the chassis for larger tires you get a little more outta the cars.

If they spec out GTP as well then we can't jig are cars to recycle tires.

More control, more money, less actual skill set building cars. The dumbing down of slots cars.

Participation Trophies for EVERYONE, EVERYONE IS A WINNER, LESS THRASHING MORE EATING DONUTS AND SIPPING COFFE BEFORE THE RACE. HOPEFULLY WE GET A DRESS CODE IN ORDER TO ATTEND RACES, MAYBE JEAN SHORTS , A JK OR PARMA SHIRT, AND WHITE AND BLUE NEW BALANCE SHOES.

At the first event at P1 Raceway, the only thing I heard was changing to CR102 motors, for economic reasons.

That's odd the retail on a RTR Raptor is a dollar less.

There might be less carnage with the slower motor, it really wouldn't be that much slower if the class didn't have a spec gear.
