Palouse Slots and Hobbies hosted the first race of the Spring/Summer Retro races this last Saturday March 21st. The day started rainy and windy but by the time the racers started showing up the sun was out and the wind was still. Beautiful day for slot car racing. The race list was short with only 7 racers on the roster.
First class up Stock Car on Ken’s track:
John Mattoon of Pullman WA set the bar early with 110 laps which gave him first place putting Robert Clements of Moscow Idaho in second place with 108 laps. Track owner Leroy Sanders came in third with 105 and Wes Spencer of Genesee Idaho rounded out fourth place with 98 laps.
2nd class up F-1 on the red track:
Robert Clements had his F-1 hooked up and clicked off 146 laps for first place. John Mattoon took second place 16 laps behind Robert with 130 laps. Leroy Sanders claimed third place with 127 and Pullmans Dave Cuellar fourth with 123 laps.
Normally we would break for lunch, but we were ahead of schedule and had to give the cook a little more time so Can -Am up next.
3rd up Can-Am Ken’s track:
John Mattoon and Leroy Sanders battled it out through the heats to tie at the end. John Mattoon took first place with 110 laps, putting Leroy Sanders in second place with 110 laps. Robert Clements came in third place with 109 laps with Tom Brown from Spokane WA rounding out fourth place with 104 laps.
LUNCH break:
Time for Lunch, Lasagna, Garlic bread, green salad with all the fixings and cheesecake for dessert. Thank you to My lovely wife Chery for the food it was wonderful as always.
Last race Coupe on the red track:
Robert Clements was in the groove and took first place with 145 laps. Paul Dwyer of Spokane WA took second place with 143 laps. Leroy Sanders is in third place with 139 laps with Dave Cuellar in fourth place with 131.
