The 2026 John Cukras/ Pete Zimmerman "Festival of Speed" will be later this month at Piranha Speedway on April 24-26. 5 races over 3 days with IRRA events of Can-Am, F1 and Stockcar with SCRRA RetroPro and this time by popular demand we will be running the JK Indy Wides on the Flat track race Saturday evening instead of the normal Retro Coupe class. While technically not on the "FoS" schedule, don't forget the usual LMP race on the Flat track on Thursday evening with a starting time of approximately 6 PM.

FRIDAY,  April 24 will feature IRRA Stockcar on the King track with tech at 10 AM. SCRRA Retro Pro, also on the King, will follow with the usual starting time of 6 PM.

SATURDAY,  April 25 will have IRRA F1 on the King track with tech at 10AM.  The new JK Indy Wide class will follow on the Flat track with tech approximately an hour after the end of F1.

SUNDAY,  April 26 will be the final day of the event and feature the premier race of the weekend, IRRA Can- Am on the King track. This will be a handout motor race and racers will be allowed to purchase as many of the marked and numbered CR102's as they desire and the motors may be purchased on Saturday. Tech will begin at 10AM.

We decided to run the Indy Wide class this time over the Retro Coupe on the Flat track as nearly everyone felt the turmout would be a lot better with this popular class. This certainly isn't the end of Retro Coupe, we just thought it was a good time to mix things up a bit.  :D

Hello Bryan,   When is there racing at Piranha raceway normally week to week. I looked at their web page and did not see a calendar, just in case someone wanted to come and see how things work nowadays. I would be looking for something like what was a group 20 motor and then an open style chassis with a wing style body.  Is there anything like this running today?

         Chris,

The Retro stuff runs the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month but I think you are asking about the wing cars and I don't know when they run. I will get you Richard's contact info....

In todays Can Am race on the King track, Sam Rackham ran a perfect race (TQ and no offs!) to a runaway victory over Roy Lievanos 2nd, Bill Taylor 3rd and Jim Lange 4th.

Race reports with pics up shortly....
