Got a lot of promising stuff coming in the future to revolutionize Retro racing and make it more accessible. The biggest announcement is that I will be starting to laser cut my chassis, which means that per IRRA rules, they must be commercially available. Of course I have been building chassis for people all of this time, but for the people that don’t want to wait for the long lead times I normally have or take pride in doing their own stuff they will be available in the short future.
These designs will be much further developed than anything I or anyone else has ever done, and the chassis that I have been building before I could fully launch it that have gone out for testing have come back with great responses and results. They have so far won in every premier event or notable race since I started building them in October including the Fall Brawl, Checkpoint Cup, Southern Retro Rumble, and Spring Fling.
The kits will include all necessary brass to build them, as well as a guide tongue and bracket, both purpose built for that kit. I unfortunately do not have anywhere near the time to provide tutorials or anything of that sort, especially since this has taken a year just to get this far, but I will provide a catalog of chassis with the brass laid out how it will look. It will be updated when there are new products that come out down the line. It is sorted in order of Can-Am/GT-Coupe/Flat Track–>Stock Car–>F1–>Individual Parts. Each chassis will have the brass laid out how it will look. The kits will include a printed sheet of a simplified cad model and a picture of the chassis as built by me, with very basic details and notables. I will be soft launching some designs at first and surely will come out with more designs as time goes on. The catalog will seem long, but most of the designs are just can-am vs coupe versions and the thickness of pans or oval versions in stock cars. I will annotate each with the chassis code and designated classes and intended wheelbases. The chassis code is just a nomenclature that I have adopted over the years for me to easily identify what each chassis is, it is not necessary to understand it.
Kits will be $65 retail with full raceway discounts. Guide tongues will be $6 each, with four different lengths depending on the class or kit, or $18 for all four. Brackets will be $12, only the 1” version is available at the moment. Unsure racers or raceways can message to inquire what kits might work best for them, or a variety of kits. I will be taking preorders but keep in mind that it will be at least a couple weeks before they will start going out.
I will be open to designing chassis upon request, or variations of my current selection like rails and wheelbase, but there needs to be clear demand and incentive for me to do it. This has the potential to be the one stop shop for any and all retro kits.
