My dad’s brother, my uncle Bob, was an engineer for Chrysler that spent most of his career at the Chelsea Michigan proving grounds in brake systems engineering. Uncle Bob was so smart the NAVY sent him to Yale to study engineering and that was what he did in WWII. His wife, my aunt Elsie from Chelsea, had an interesting story about a gala event that the Chrysler Corporation was holding in 1963. Turns out it was the introduction of the Chrysler Turbine Car. She was quite the seamstress and made an evening gown for the event. Turns out the fabric she used was nearly identical in color to the Turbine Bronze color of the Turbine Car. Needles to say she was the belle of the ball.
Does anybody remember "The Lively Set"?
