Hey Guys;

I'm trying to complete a Russkit Chaparral but need a few trim items, specifically (ref. picture below):

- One each of the angled exhaust pipes.

- Two each of the wire wheel inserts.

I'd be happy to purchase or trade for these items.  I've got a lot of vintage Russkit parts as well as some Classic, Dynamic and Cox items so just let me know what you might need.

Hey Jay, I will check soon to see what chrome bits I have extra.

Do you have any un-threaded green Russkit axles to trade?

Hi Martin:

Unfortunately I just bought two off of eBay to finish off some other cars.  Nonetheless I'll double check.

Hi Bill:  Are you talking about IRRA Can-Am bodies or true vintage, like Russkit, Camen, etc.?  Any particular model or make?

Cant you just make the angled exhaust with brass and then paint it?

Dean:

Yes, I have the equipment and ability to do that, but if someone has an extra lying around obviously it would be easier, and possibly even beneficial to someone else if we can make a trade for something they need.

I also have the ability to "clone" the wire wheel inserts (and exhaust pipes), not a particularly quick or easy process but I can do it, but again not as time or cost efficient just to make two.

I'm looking for true vintage Russkit bodies like a Lotus 30/40, Lola T70, or McLaren 1B that have a narrow width of 3" or less.  Lancer would also be Ok.

"Sizzlerdom" on eBay makes a Russkit repop that includes the chrome pieces you're looking for.

Hi Jay,

The Parts Box in Australia has the reproduction parts you need.

The prices are AUD dollars so each dollar is only $.72 in the USA.

They take PayPal, shipping is pretty fast and has tracking.

I love their stuff.

Hi Rick:

Thanks so much for the link, the #2558 pipes look exactly like what I need.  I may have already found a source for the original Russkit wheel inserts but if that source doesn't work out the wire wheel inserts Slot Car Parts have look like they should work well for my project.

Bill:

Wow, those pipes look just like what I'm looking for!  I don't need the whole body but I suspect I could buy just the pipes I need by checking direct with Sizzlerdom.  Thanks so much!!

Still have to check about the vintage Russkit body, sorry for the delay on that.

Hey Bill:  Sorry for the late reply...

Here are a couple of bodies that I've got that might be what you're looking for.

This one is an original Russkit Lola T70, it is only slightly tinted but does have a heavy "tire stain" on one side.

IMG_7521.JPG

I'm pretty sure this one is a Dynamic Handling body, it's a bit wider and lower, and it has a bit more tinting.

They're not perfect for sure but not too bad for 60+ years old.  Just me know if you're interested in either.

Hi Jay, I'm going to pass on both. Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it,

No problem Bill, they're not in the greatest condition for sure.  TBH I think I'm going to "pass" on both of them too. :)
