Hmmmmm....
In Marvel's Iron Man comics we were told that Tony Stark's Iron Man suit derived it's power from transistors.
One of the properties of transistors is that they can amplify and regulate current/power but to the best of my feeble electronics knowledge they don't actually generate or store current/power.
So how did Iron Man's suit actually generate power? I don't recall it ever being said that the suit had a dedicated power supply. Also in the comics, Stark/Iron Man constantly gripes about having to recharge his transistors.
Sounds like Stan Lee was pulling a fast one on us kids back in the day.

Iron Man’s primary power source is the Arc Reactor, a fictional, miniaturized clean-energy generator. Originally conceptualized by Howard Stark, it was perfected and shrunk to fit in Tony Stark's chest to power his high-tech armor and act as life support. [1, 2, 3, 4]

The Arc Reactor came much later.
"In the early issues of Tales of Suspense, specifically issue #39, Iron Man's suit was powered by regular electricity and transistors.
The armor utilized a series of small but powerful transistors and magnets to stabilize the shrapnel near Tony Stark's heart and enhance his physical strength, rather than the miniature arc reactor seen in modern adaptations."
This is basically what was said in all of the early Iron Man issues, and the emphasis was always on the transistors being the source of power.
