[Slot Car Rod]

Ernie was kind enough to send me one of his Porsche bodies to build.  The proportions of this low and wide body are right on the money.  I decided to build a Brumos Racing-style race car.  The Brumos decals are Cady brand.  The body came with window masks, making painting easy.  Tamiya PS paint was used.  

 

A simple four rail chassis was built with used parts from Victor.  A Mura Super Wasp motor powers the car.  Wheels and tires are Cox.

A approachable build for most. I say that being the exception ,I'd have difficulty. People seem to overlook the wasp/super wasp. It's actually the 1st motor I bought. They have come a long way since 82🙄. Glad to see one in a build . It's the first one I've seen in a build on Slot Blog.
Just out of curiosity, what is the with of the body?(at the fairs) opposed to the wheel with?

Thanks Bill.  Four rail angle winder chassis are my favorite. Mark, I like Wasp and S-Wasp motors.  They are easy to drive.

The rear flare body width is a little over 3 1/4" and the front flare body width is 3 1/4".

It's probably the photo angle but, are the wheels brought out to the end of the flairs ?

The car drives nicely with neutral handling.  I did replace the rear tires with modern fish rubber.  Power is good with the Super Wasp motor. 

Ernie's Porsche bodies have "the look."
