I went thrift store shopping today and found a perfect table to work on slot cars. Rigid steel legs and a solid top, I got it home and set up my soldering station and set about straightening / blueprinting the chassis that I got at the Fast Track swap meet a few weeks ago. Some real prince of a gentleman sold me a box with a number of current JK chassis with motors mounted, and good ones at that for only 50.00 dollars. I have run them a few times on the Yellow flat track, but I knew that they needed tweaking and setting up. Four hours later, I realized that I had not left the table once, and that was on a single car. And it was fun! 20 years was too long of a layoff but I had a family to raise, and now that I am back I remember how enjoyable it is to focus on small details and getting things right. It's good to be back.
