One of these centers recently opened near my residence and here is the track layout. In case you don't know of this company, they have electric karts..It seems they took some inspiration from the slot car world. It look like fun!

Never forget that first place goes to the racer with the MOST laps, not the racer with the FASTEST lap

Anytime you have something like this it will be expensive. The late landlord of the Sonic complex also owned a building that has a K1 karting business in it. It's still there after a decade or so, so they must have enough repeat business to keep open.
It reminds me of CalRace in Pomona, where it was rumored to be a Mario Andretti-owned business. They had 2/3 scale formula cars powered by a two-rotor rotary engines. They were pretty sporty.. .especially when the gas tanks were near empty. Full tanks made the cars so 'tight' it wasn't fun but empty they could be launched into corners with no tightness or looseness: they felt like they were on rails. How anyone could spin those things out I can't fathom and there were plenty of people spinning them out.
I will be checking out the Culver City location and give a small review soon.
