The "Classic" engraving would lead me to believe this is a Classic Industries chassis, not Cox. The entire setup including the 36D motor looks like the one used with the Manta Ray, but someone has replaced the Manta Ray body. Cox used diecast magnesium chassis until the La Cuc iso-fulcrum chassis, and this Classis INdustries chassis is stamped aluminum.

The body is someone's Lotus 30, but I have no idea whose.

Didn't Manta Rays come with a spare clear body, usually a Lotus 30? I know my Classic Asp came with a 1/32 scale Maserati clear body.

It's weird being the same age as Old People.

Mike:

You are correct, but the Classic brand Lotus 30 that came with the Manta Ray was much better looking than this body even though it does appear to be a very poor example of a Lotus 30.
