We have this new in box Revell controller. It looks very much like a lamp foot switch. Do you folks know about this item? I want to sell it. What is it worth? Thank you in advance.

I remember that thing, it seemed to have a vibrating reed inside and as you pressed on the lever or button it accelerated. At are track in Merritt Island, Florida they had one for you to try, nobody liked it.

I haven't seen one of these since the late 60s. They weren't very popular.
They had a weekend at Revell Raceway where track time was free and every track had these controllers hooked-up. Like the post above, it had a vibrating reed switch which changed frequencies the more you pushed. It's biggest drawback it wasn't "linear" like the thumb or trigger controllers so there was little feedback as to finger position. You needed to get used to the vibration because the button has very little travel, and thus, no real position feedback. It was used by holding it in your hand and squeezing it.... kinda like wringing a sponge dry...
I like the price tag.... $1.69 at The Akron! God, it's been forever since I have even thought of The Akron stores!

Jim, I think when Revell designed this they were trying to stay away from electronics. I'm not so sure PWM was a common tech in the mid-60s.... at least not for slot cars at that time.

from the description of pulses "hundreds times a second" PWM was the first thing I thought of. But then it says no transistors so...who knows what it was. That was a few years before I even started racing and I never laid my eyes on one.
